Dancing Conversations - Meeting Aslak Aune Nygård & Tilly Sordat
Dancing Conversations is a workshop-series of Tanzkongress 2022, that offers an insight into individual physical practices of dancers. Each session starts with an interview of an invited dancer, where they answer questions on what is driving their own practice; what it focuses on and what it wishes to share. This will be followed by a physical exploration of their particular practice, before finishing with a collective reflection and exchange between the teaching dancer and the participants about their shared experience.
“As dancers of Carte Blanche, we feel a hounding drive in us to listen and restructure the neverending input perceived by our senses. Not to start from the mind-thinking space, but rather to grasp, snatch, re-ignite and let our movement unfold through intuition. In this workshop we will persist in what is already there, as well as letting experiences peter out and vanish into thin air. Hard facts will be liquefied, and sharp edges dulled. We will relax and dissect random and habitual decisions. Inviting joy and pleasure into the space, we wish to build moments where dance does not have to confirm its own existence through identification. This workshop does not require professional dance training or experience.’’
