Dynamics of Change - Conversations on Transitioning
Dancers navigate through dynamics of change and repeatedly shape new beginnings. Transitioning appears throughout a dancer’s career in various ways, extending far beyond physical aspects of the practice: transitioning between different artistic and choreographic processes, movement languages, physical and creative states, uncertainties, different demands, work contexts and between professions. Therefore, is dance a practice of transitioning?
After an impulse by Fabrice Mazliah, multiple one-on-one conversations between invited guests will take place throughout the space. As a participant you’re invited to freely move through the room and listen in on these conversations as ‘live-podcasts’. Furthermore there are empty seats available where you can offer yourself as a conversational partner to another participant. Together you will become a part of this collection of dialogues. The session will close with an exchange between the conversational partners and the participants. What different understandings of transitioning will be shared? This moderated session invites exchanges on the difficulties, challenges and exciting aspects of transitioning and transitory states that are related to the dancer´s practice.
