Scores That Happen
In this workshop we look at scores in the sense of traces / notations, and also as ‘instructions’ for future practices. What kind of scores can I invent to use as the basis for my artistic practice? How can I develop scores on the basis of stories / biographies / themes? What potentials can a score activate? How future-oriented is a score, and what futures can it bring about by means of / through its trace?
We’ll research into practices that centre the body as a medium and write new stories with it. We’ll research into future historiography, into forms of narration, always asking how such a future body might look. The term ‘score’ helps us to go beyond the dance-scholarly definition of a notation to explore our understanding of space and bodies. We’ll refer to the human body in relation to time, but at the same time the future itself is invented as one’s own time-body.
