Think Tanks: Rehearsal Director
The role of the Rehearsal Director of today’s professional world is often faced with a variety of challenges and difficulties. During the Think Tanks this topic will be discussed and deepened. Ideas and experience will be exchanged and systematically collected by means of four workgroups. The aim is to formulate shared interests in rehearsal directing, and to bring a sharper focus on its skills and challenges.
The four topic groups will be follows:
- Scheduling: capacity management, resources, logistics, stage management.
- Training: dance techniques, body-perception techniques, preparation for a choreography, prevention of injury.
- Rehearsal: body memory, working methods, participative concepts, spirit/stage presence – how does one bring this out? Inclusion of people with disabilities, authorship and restaging.
- Communication: connection between dancers and choreographers, flat hierarchies, dealing with resistance, resilience, wellbeing, self-care, burnout prevention, communication, giving corrections, feedback methods.
